About Us
Founded in 2016 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center / Harvard Medical School in Boston, GlomCon began as a collaborative academic initiative dedicated to advancing the understanding and care of glomerular diseases. Since then, it has evolved into a thriving global consortium that continues to bridge clinical practice, education, and research through the following key initiatives:
-
A multi-site real-world evidence study group
-
A certificate-based virtual fellowship program in glomerular diseases
-
Weekly case-based and scientific webinars led by international experts
-
An open-access publishing platform that fosters shared learning
As of January 2024, GlomCon has hosted over 300 live seminars, offering deep dives into clinical challenges, emerging scientific insights, and innovative concepts in nephrology. These sessions consistently attract 120 to 240 participants weekly—making them among the most well-attended and respected events in the field. The YouTube channel has extended this reach further, with archived seminars viewed over 379,000 times globally.
In April 2025, this spirit of collaboration took root locally with the official launch of GlomCon Philippines—a local chapter of the GlomCon Foundation. GlomCon PH is committed to empowering local nephrologists, promoting evidence-based education, and encouraging collaborative research to advance the care of patients with glomerular diseases across the country.

Team Members
Our team is composed of passionate nephrologists from various provinces across the Philippine archipelago, representing a diverse range of institutions, training backgrounds, and clinical experiences. This geographic and professional diversity enriches our perspectives and strengthens our collective commitment to improving kidney care nationwide.
Many of our members are proud graduates of the GlomCon Virtual Glomerular Disease Fellowship Program. Their experience through this global program not only deepened their expertise, but also inspired them to bring GlomCon’s collaborative spirit and educational mission to the local setting.
Together, we aim to build a strong, inclusive community of nephrologists dedicated to knowledge-sharing, innovation, and patient-centered research in glomerular disease care throughout the Philippines.
