RKD vs. CKD:
Understanding the Difference
-
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD): A long-term condition where the kidneys gradually lose their ability to function over time. CKD often progresses slowly and may not show symptoms in the early stages.

-
Rare Kidney Diseases (RKD): Unlike CKD, RKDs are uncommon and often result from genetic mutations, autoimmune conditions, or other unique causes. These conditions can be challenging to diagnose but may require specialized treatments or management strategies.
